I conducted a seminar for work at the Buenos Aires Sheraton Hotel and Convention Center in the El Retiro part of Buenos Aires in late August. Here are some related shots:
We visited the cemetery where many wealthy and notable Argentinians have been buried.
These folks were waiting to look at Evita Peron's mausoleum.
Eva Peron was a Duarte. I'm next to where she was laid to rest.
Some of the plaques at her site.
The female colleagues who joined us on the trip. Left to right - Daniela Queiroz from Sao Paulo, Brazil (Corporate Vertical Market Manager), Sonia Alonzo from Logan who also has lived in Mexico and Central America (Customer Service), Millie Ullah, of Bangladesh descent but born and raised in London, England, and who now lives in Logan and is a Product Manager, and finally, Rosario Roose, raised in Bolivia but now living in Maryland and who is our Key Account Manager for all of Latin America.
Demonstrations are common in Latin America. Don't know what this was about but it went by on our way to the "Pink House."
Plaza area where Juan and Eva Peron would address the crowds from a balcony of the Pink House.
Actual front of the Pink House. I understand Cristina Kirchner (president whose husband had also been president before her and who died - much like Juan and Eva) doesn't actually live here.
The Argentinian flag next to the Pink House.
Dusk, looking at the Bridge of the Woman in the marina area.
The clock tower, a gift from the British many years ago. Note the trees are bare. Remember, August is late winter in the southern hemisphere.
The seminar organizer next to some of our products on display.
I ran the seminar in Spanish, and three of our speakers spoke in Spanish. The others did in English but we had translated hard copies of their presentations in binders for folks to follow along in Spanish.
It was a great opportunity to mingle with key contacts at customers and potential customers.
