Gayle snapped this shot of Arleen and Brit holding the little ones while watching the July 24th (Pioneer Day) parade on Center Street in Logan. Avril was collecting candy thrown from the floats in a McDonald's bag.
Avril liked to do the princess wave and learned it from watching the princesses on the floats.
McKel was getting tired and hot.
Avril, sitting on a stool, and looking for more candy to be thrown.
Carol got married to Mike, her high school sweetheart with whom she reconnected after more than 40 years, this month. Gayle and I went to the Logan temple with them and this shot is at the meal served in the park that afternoon before the reception. Carol broke her arm 1 week before the wedding. A few days later Mike was in a car accident and hurt his back. But the wedding took place anyway and they are happily married. Gustavo Flores and I are her (and now their) home teachers.
The granddaughters like to cover their dolls and stuffed animals with blankets and covers so they can go night-night. I was on the floor so they covered me up too.
We took the little ones to the Willow Park zoo last Saturday. Here we're getting a closer look at the ducks.
Sitting in the shade for a rest.
Avril, after throwing "fish food" to the ducks.
We capped off the zoo excursion with time at the park's playground.
Avril was sick yesterday so Gayle kept her from school. Here is Avril after Gayle took her to Arleen's for awhile. She was feeling better and was happy to have a bear with her.
Just having random fun.
Performing my normal duty whenever at mom's for group eating.
Spencer Lee and Brian (who still looks like a missionary, except for not having his name tag and tie on).
Part of the group - eating our cake and ice cream.
The other part of the crowd. Note that Rob and Kristen and kids came too.
Jared made it up to join us near the end. Grandma Joyce is waving goodbye to Rob, Kristen, Julie, and the kids behind him. Note Jared's Harley-Davidson.
Can't go to grandma Joyce's without getting on the deer.
And finally, one day Avril walked over to a decoration and said "Papa, take a picture...cheese." So we did.
