We start off with a pose by Brit that was one of some "glam" shots we took of her for a school project.
The girls are always quick to want to help. They're assisting here with clean up of leaves, etc. from the patio. It was a blustery day and had sprinkled and been windy.
On June 3 Alicia rode 100 miles as part of a bicycle ride to raise $ for cancer research. 3,600 women riders participated, at different distances. I believe most did the whole 100 mile course. Alicia raised $750 for the fund-raiser and did the ride in about 7 hours. We were very proud of her, especially since with work, the move to her new house, and taking care of kids she had almost no time to train.
Here's a shot of the finish line in Lewiston, UT. Alicia started in Lewiston, went through Logan, up into Idaho, and back down into Lewiston. We had never seen so many female bike riders ever in one place! Apparently they were not all local either, with many coming from out of state.
McKel and I sat in the shade awhile to wait for Alicia's arrival.
Brit, Avril, and Arleen also kept in the shade.
And here is Alicia just past the finish line.
A pose just inside the finish line.
With several of us.
And with her mom.
And here are Boyd and Carol Fullmer, our next door neighbors who volunteered for the event.
Avril wasn't even scared of the big bad wolf (Little Red Riding Hood ride). This must be the Sam the Sham and the Pharoah's version of the story from the 60's.
Avril didn't seem to think the 60's theme was strange.
And what would the 60's be without the Beatles? This tribute band, Imagine, was actually quite good. The bass player even played left-handed like Paul McCartney.
We got a little dancing in with the girls during the music. I don't know how Alicia had the strength to do it, though.
